What is the story behind your derby name?

I wanted to pick a fun and fearless name along with showcasing a diva. So when I was watching Pulp Fiction one night, it was absolutely perfect when Mrs. Mia Wallace came on the screen! That's when Mrs. Mia Lawless was born. I love that movie.

When you're not playing derby, what do you do with yourself?

When I am not playing derby, or watching bout footage, I am studying. I am working on my associates in nursing so that takes up a lot of my time. I also like to try and keep up on my martial arts as it is another great way to work out.

What is the weirdest response you've ever gotten when people found out you play roller derby?

When I tell people I play roller derby, I usually just get questions about how the game is played and if I have been hurt yet. But one time I mentioned it to one of my co-workers and was telling them about it, they interrupted me and stated, "Oh! You're serious!" Yes, people actually do play roller derby! Too funny.
